Light Up the Deck: International Overdose Awareness Event

Conemaugh Health System and the Cambria County Drug Coalition will host Light Up the Deck, an International Overdose Awareness Event, on Thursday, August 31 from 7 to 8:45 pm at the Inclined Plane Observation Deck.

The event will include drug overdose and treatment information displays by Conemaugh Health System, Cambria County Drug Coalition, 2-1-1, Cambria County Single County Authority, The Healing Patch, and Magellan Healthcare. 

An LED candlelight vigil for deceased, recovering, and currently addicted individuals will be held at 8 pm, followed by guest speaker, Anthony Paolillo, a recovering addict.

“It’s important for us to come together as a community during the current drug abuse epidemic,” says Tess Bradley, Drug and Alcohol Education for Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. 
“We encourage individuals to attend this event and bring a photo of a loved one who is impacted by addiction. We will specifically remember all those we have lost.”
